mild–medium heat, late fresh, citrus flavor bright notes

German Hardy garlic has a robust, mild-medium heat that develops slowly on the palate and lingers. The fresh, citrus flavor is a favorite for chefs and foodies, and the bright notes make it a favorite to pair raw or cooked with tomato-based, Mediterranean-, and Italian-inspired dishes.

German Hardy bulbs are medium-large to large in size, and the thick bulb wrapper usually contains 6–9 medium-sized cloves. The thick clove wrappers are a dark pink or deep purple color, and the cloves are slightly sticky which means they peel easiest using the knife crush technique. German Hardy garlic keeps for 5–6 months when stored at room temperature in a dry, dark place that has plenty of air circulation.

Quantity Guidelines
10-12 bulbs per pound
Approximately 60-75 cloves per pound

We grow all of our garlic from naturally grown or organic seed, and we never use chemicals at any time during our planting, growing, harvesting or curing processes. The Quantity Guidelines listed above are ESTIMATES to help you decide how much of this garlic variety to order by weight so you can plan for your cooking needs.

Note: Garlic is an agricultural crop that is subject to loss due to conditions beyond our control. This can even occur in the curing stage. We check each bulb before shipping them to you, and if there are any quality issues with our stock, we may need to substitute the variety you want with another, similar variety. We rarely need to do this, but if it does become necessary, we will contact you prior to shipping to discuss your options. Our goal is to get truly great, high quality garlic into your hands while providing personalized customer service that you can trust!
