Montana Giant has medium heat and a robust artichoke flavor that is a little salty but not overpowering. This is a good all-around workhorse in the kitchen. When cooked, it pairs well with tubers, cheeses or cheesy sauces, and chicken. Montana Giant's flavor is most similar to the popular Music variety, but with more intense "true garlic" notes. This variety's bulbs are usually large with wrappers that have pretty purple and lavender splotches. Each bulb usually contains 4–6 large cloves each. The pinkish clove skins are not too thick, but the creamy colored cloves are easy to peel. Montana Giant garlic can keep for 7–8 months when stored at room temperature in a dry, dark place that has plenty of air circulation.
