Chesnok garlic regularly wins acclaim and awards as one of the best tasting baking garlics. It is very sweet and tasty when cooked, roasted or made into black garlic. This variety is said to have "true" garlic flavor that is perfect for basic cooking. This is an incredibly versatile garlic too; when raw or cooked, it adds a creamy, sweetness without too much heat to a wide variety of dishes. When cooking or roasting, Chesnok also has a distinct smell similar to a roasting sweet onion.
Chesnok bulbs are medium to medium-large in size, and have a purpleish outer wrapper that contains 7–10 cloves. The clove skins are a medium thickness, and the creamy white cloves are fairly juicy and slightly sticky, so this variety peels easiest when using the knife crush technique. Chesnok keeps for 8–9 months when stored at room temperature in a dry, dark place that has plenty of air circulation.

We grow all of our garlic from naturally grown or organic seed, and we never use chemicals at any time during our planting, growing, harvesting or curing processes. The Quantity Guidelines listed above are ESTIMATES to help you decide how much of this garlic variety to order by weight so you can plan for your cooking needs.
Note: Garlic is an agricultural crop that is subject to loss due to conditions beyond our control. This can even occur in the curing stage. We check each bulb before shipping them to you, and if there are any quality issues with our stock, we may need to substitute the variety you want with another, similar variety. We rarely need to do this, but if it does become necessary, we will contact you prior to shipping to discuss your options.
